Abstract Rainbow Keyboard is a rainbow keyboard theme for Android, made to sit on top of the GO Keyboard base app. It replaces the default key background with a layered sun-ray pattern and a brighter look. If you're bored with plain white keys, this is a quick way to change the feel of typing without changing your launcher.
What Abstract Rainbow Keyboard Actually Changes
It is not a keyboard engine. This GO Keyboard theme is a visual layer on top of an existing input method. The main visual change is a sun-ray rainbow pattern that spreads from the center of the key area, with brighter accents on the suggestion strip and selected key states. Swipe typing, autocorrect and key sounds remain unchanged because GO Keyboard still controls all input logic.
Installation Steps That People Often Miss
Setup takes about a minute if you already use GO Keyboard. Open the downloaded theme, press Set as Active Theme, then choose this skin from the theme list. If GO Keyboard is missing, the app sends you to its download page before the theme can be applied. This custom keyboard theme setup is simple, but it is not a standalone keyboard app. I also recommend making GO Keyboard your active input method first; otherwise, the theme selection screen may appear to do nothing.
Bright Design, Real Contrast Problems
The rainbow rays are vivid without being aggressive. On a moderate brightness level, the key labels remain readable because the background's center is lighter than the edges. The number row is the weak point: the top keys blend into the sun-ray lines more than the letters do. I had to raise screen brightness during a sunny commute, which is annoying on older LCD screens. On OLED displays, the theme still looks sharp, but that does not fix the contrast issue outdoors.
Limitations Worth Knowing Before You Install
This theme depends on GO Keyboard, so it cannot be used with Gboard, Samsung Keyboard, or the stock AOSP keyboard. You would need to switch your default input method and keep GO Keyboard installed. The 48-language menu translation does not mean autocorrect or predictive text supports those languages; it only translates the theme's settings screens. Also, the setup flow may show ads. I still think Abstract Rainbow Keyboard works best for people who already use GO Keyboard and enjoy visual experimentation, but anyone who wants a standalone keyboard replacement should skip it.
