WhatsDelete - View Deleted Messages & Status Saver is a free Android utility for WhatsApp users who want to track messages and media that vanish after being sent. Unlike recovery tools that claim to restore old chats, WhatsDelete focuses on catching deletions as they happen, so you can review content even after the sender removes it. The app also has a built-in status saver for downloading WhatsApp status updates before they disappear.
What WhatsDelete Does
When someone deletes a message or media file in WhatsApp, WhatsDelete - View Deleted Messages & Status Saver catches the notification and keeps a local copy. This works for text messages, photos, images, and other media that are removed by the sender. The app does not connect to WhatsApp servers; it simply reads notification changes on your device, which is why activation and notification access are necessary. Once detected, deleted content appears in a dedicated folder so you can browse what was erased before the automatic cleanup removes it.
How It Works and Who It Helps
After you install WhatsDelete and grant notification access, it runs quietly in the background and monitors incoming WhatsApp notifications. If a message is deleted, you get an alert and the content is saved for a limited time based on your settings. This is especially helpful for people who miss important messages in active group chats, or for those who want to keep status updates shared by friends and family. The status saver section lets you save current WhatsApp status images or videos directly to your phone.
Limitations to Keep in Mind
Keep in mind that WhatsDelete - View Deleted Messages & Status Saver cannot restore messages that were deleted before the app was activated. Detection only starts after the app is installed, notification access is granted, and the service is running. Some media types may not be captured if they do not generate a full notification preview. The auto-delete timer helps manage storage, but you can adjust it if you want to keep certain deleted items longer. This app is not affiliated with WhatsApp or WhatsApp for Business, and WhatsApp is a trademark of WhatsApp Inc.
