Metal Gear Solid - Ongoing Updates & What's New
1. Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2
Konami has confirmed development is underway for Master Collection Vol. 2.
It will be alongside Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
Although no full game list is confirmed, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Peace Walker are among the strong fan speculations for inclusion.
Konami is being more cautious with this volume, especially after criticisms of Vol. 1, aiming for smoother performance and fewer launch issues.
2. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Remake
Released on August 28, 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Key features / enhancements include:
• Two gameplay styles: New Style (over-the-shoulder third-person) and Legacy Style (top-down view), letting players choose the classic view or a modernized feel.
• Quick‐select camouflage system (changing camo on the fly) instead of navigating deep menus.
• Return of eagle-eye classic content: the Snake vs Monkey special mode is back.
• Expanded graphical fidelity: enhanced animations, weather effects, real-time damage visuals, etc.
There is an online multiplayer mode called Fox Hunt, officially confirmed for Fall 2025-not at launch.
Fox Hunt will not support crossplay at launch (between PC, Xbox, PS5).

3. Master Collection Vol.1 & Patch Updates
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 (includes earlier titles like Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid 1 / Integral, MGS2: Sons of Liberty, MGS3) continues receiving updates.

Some recent patches and updates:
• Ver.1.4.0 added new screen/camera/visual settings for all versions.
• Ver.1.5.0 addressed issues like cutscenes freezing, input bugs, control / analog issues, etc.
• Ver.2.0.0 added screen settings presets, custom resolution options in certain versions, etc.
4. Other Notable Items & Community Reaction
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain celebrated its 10th anniversary recently. The dev (Kojima) and fans reflect on both its legacy and controversies.
Kojima's newer project Physint, described as a spiritual successor to Metal Gear Solid, is still in concept phase. It has gotten some casting announcements, teasers, etc., but nothing close to a release yet.
Why These Updates Matter & What Fans Should Watch
The remakes (especially Delta: Snake Eater) are being handled with more respect for original material, but with modern improvements. That's satisfying for longtime fans who wanted fidelity + quality.
Fox Hunt multiplayer could reinvigorate online play if done well. How well it's balanced, how active its player base becomes, and whether future updates add features like crossplay will determine its success.
Master Collection Vol. 2 is highly anticipated, especially if MGS4 becomes playable on modern platforms-a longtime community request.

Patch stability and visual / control polish in the remasters and remakes are seen as key to restoring faith among fans after some past releases had rough launches or technical issues.
